Bedford Police say they investigated a complaint from the parent of a 15-year-old juvenile on Tuesday, July 30. The parent alleged that their child purchased “Juul” mint nicotine and a package of CBD edibles from The Vape and Smoke Shop, located at 742 Bedford Road in Bedford Hills.

Further investigation led to the arrest of the owner of the business, Chuan Lin, 36, of Lake Hiawatha. He was arrested at the business and charged with endangering the welfare of a child, a Class A misdemeanor.

Lin was arraigned at the Town of Bedford Justice Court and released on his own recognizance.

Police say this is the second time in two months that individuals at the business sold tobacco and related products to minors. Last month, one of Lin’s employee allegedly sold tobacco products to a 17-year-old, according to police.

Police say the New York State Department of Health will be following up on this incident as well.
